August 30, 2015

Pastor Mike: Thank God that we are able to have a relationship with God. We need to be part of the solution and not part of the attack. Thank God that we are able to open our eyes and get out of bed every day. Prayer for patience and tolerance as we work together as brothers and sisters in Christ to support one another.

George: Prayers of thanks that Mary Lou came through her brain surgery very well. She is already home.

Joe: I was nervous about a speaking commitment I had the other day so I prayed before I went. The feedback was good. People were asking for help. Prayers for my sister. She is dabbling with addiction and has come to me for help. I now know the purpose for my life and that is to help people. Prayers of thanks that my parents, as well as my siblings were all able to sit together for dinner on Friday night for the first time in many years.

Sue: Prayers of gratitude for all of my blessings. Tomorrow Phil Ward will have new stints put into his legs. Thank god for a safe trip/vacation. I am thankful that my husband is OK. We had to go to the ER while we were away. Tom was suffering with a lot of pain and his blood pressure was out of control. He was diagnosed with a kidney stone. He passed the stone during the night and felt better afterwards.

Winn: Prayers for my husband’s nephew. He is missing. He attends Virginia Tech. We are all praying that he be found and that he is some place safe. I hope he is some place safe.

Joan: Thank God that He speaks to me all of the time.

Virginia: Prayers for safe travel mercies for my son. Prayers for my friend’s nephew who is struggling with addictions.

Tracy: Prayers of thanks that I am feeling blessed.

Annie: Prayers as I go off to school.

Tom: Prayers of thanks for all my blessings. God is good!

Kathleen: I thank God for the time in my life that I was able to surrender my life over to God.

Reilee: Prayers of thank that VBS went well. Even though we were small it was nice. I am grateful that Bobbie was able to come to VBS and I’m grateful to Sissies niece who was a bright light. Prayers for me as I head off to college and also, prayers for Austin.

 Offertory Prayer

August 30, 2015

O God, our creator, you love each person whom you have made in your image. Thank you for providing for our needs so that we can be generous. We feel joy when we share with others. Direct our thoughts and actions as we seek to work together as brothers and sisters in Christ. We dedicate these offerings in the excellent name of Jesus. Amen. (James 2:1-17)
