Leader:  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

People:  for by the tender mercy of our God, the dawn from on high has broken upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death.  

PRAYER OF INVOCATION

God of light, we worship you because your Son has become the sunshine of our world, bringing us illumination in the darkness of doubt and hope in the shadow of death.  Receive our prayers inspired by the Spirit of the risen Christ.  Amen
